SR HR Generalist
The SR HR Generalist will act as the frontline HR representative for all employees at BCRTA. This position will be responsible for providing applicants and employees with excellent customer service and problem resolution while always maintaining strict confidentiality of information. Duties include but are not limited to communication with all employees regarding benefits, compensation, handbook compliance, attendance, FMLA, etc., filing, tracking monthly HR statistics, compliance with EEO requirements, accident file audits, new hire onboarding and drug and alcohol program compliance.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain, secure, and manage confidential HR records and data, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely updates across all systems.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employees regarding HR matters, including benefits, compensation, attendance, FMLA, and policy interpretation.
- Administer and coordinate employee benefits processes, including enrollments, status changes, and terminations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage compliance-related programs and processes, including unemployment, workers’ compensation, disability, FMLA, EEOC reporting, drug and alcohol programs, and audit requirements.
- Coordinate and support full-cycle recruitment and onboarding processes, including job postings, hiring events, orientations, and employment record maintenance.
- Maintain and distribute HR documentation, including employee handbooks, job descriptions, evaluations, and required governmental forms.
- Develop, analyze, and distribute HR reports and metrics to support management decisions and meet regulatory or contractual requirements.
- Support HRIS functions by identifying system needs, optimizing processes, performing audits, troubleshooting issues, supporting upgrades, and providing user training.
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, compliance, and overall HR operations.
- Train and educate staff on HR policies, procedures, and compliance topics (e.g., EEO, ADA, DOL, HIPAA, ERISA, FMLA).
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with internal departments, management, and external partners to ensure efficient HR operations.
- Represent the organization at recruitment events, community engagements, and professional development opportunities.
- Provide responsive, high-quality customer service by prioritizing communications and addressing employee needs effectively.
- Support employee relations initiatives, including investigations, engagement efforts, and incentive programs.
- Maintain professionalism, composure, and sound judgment in high-pressure situations while promoting a positive organizational image.
- Assist leadership with special projects and additional duties as assigned.

Experience
- 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including experience with process improvement, compliance, and HR systems (HRIS) preferred.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licenses/Certifications
- PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar HR certification preferred (or ability to obtain within 12–18 months).

BCRTA acts as the designated recipient for Federal Transit Funds and provides public transportation services within and around Butler County, Ohio including Hamilton, Middletown, Fairfield, West Chester, Oxford, and Miami University.
