HR Coordinator

BCRTA is seeking a professional, service-oriented Human Resources Coordinator to serve as the frontline HR representative for our employees. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values confidentiality, and is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service.
As a key member of our HR team, you will support employees and applicants, assist with critical HR processes, and help ensure compliance across multiple HR functions — all while promoting a positive and professional workplace culture.
What You’ll Do
Maintain, secure, and file confidential employee records
Provide outstanding customer service and timely problem resolution
Assist with hiring, onboarding, and employee orientation
Support processes related to unemployment, Workers’ Compensation, disability, and FMLA
Track onboarding requirements and drug & alcohol program compliance
Distribute HR documents including handbooks, job postings, evaluations, and required forms
Maintain HR policies, SOPs, and workflows
Represent BCRTA at hiring events, conferences, and community functions
Communicate effectively with internal staff and contract partners
Assist management with special projects
Promote a positive public image of BCRTA
This position may perform additional duties as assigned.

Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and multitasking ability
Sound judgment, professionalism, and discretion
Ability to analyze issues and recommend solutions
Comfort working under deadlines and periods of stress
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Ability to perform basic math functions
Experience
Experience in Human Resources functions required
Experience with Paycom or other HRIS systems preferred
Education
Bachelor degree with focus in HR, Business, Sociology, or Psychology preferred
Certifications (Preferred)
HRCI - or -
PHR - or -
SHRM certification
Work Environment
Primarily office environment
Occasional exposure to exhaust fumes
Frequent sitting and speaking
No significant physical demands

About Butler County RTA
BCRTA is a political subdivision of the State of Ohio organized as a Regional Transit Authority under Ohio code. BCRTA acts as the designated recipient for Federal Transit Funds and provides public transportation services within and around Butler County, Ohio including Hamilton, Middletown, Fairfield, West Chester, Oxford, and Miami University. The BCRTA employs or directs around 120 transit employees and manages an annual budget over $7M. BCRTA is governed by a nine-member Board of Trustees.
